Welcome to More Than Camps. Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before booking a place on any More Than Camps program. By booking a camp, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you are not the parent or legal guardian of the participant, you must obtain parental consent before booking. By registering a minor, the parent or guardian confirms acceptance of these Terms on the participant’s behalf.

Our Privacy Policy, which sets out in detail how your personal data is handled, can be viewed online at our website.

1. Information About Us

More Than Camps is operated by More Than Camps, headquartered in Tenerife, Spain.

2. Key Definitions

  • You / Your: The person booking or arranging the booking (parent, legal guardian, or authorized adult).
  • Participant: The athlete attending the camp.
  • Authorised Adult: Parent or legal guardian of a participant.
  • Booking: Your confirmed registration for a camp, including deposit or full payment.
  • Camp: Any residential, day, or pop-up program offered by More Than Camps.
  • Airport Transfer: Transfers organized by More Than Camps between Tenerife airports and the camp venue.
  • Athlete Information Form: Form completed by parent/guardian providing medical, emergency, and logistical information.

3. Eligibility & Age Groups

  • Camps are designed for athletes aged 10 and over, depending on the specific program.
  • Participants under 16 may only register with parental consent. Under Spanish law, participants under 14 require explicit parental authorization for data handling.
  • Age groups for training sessions will be organized to ensure safety, appropriate skill levels, and the best coaching experience.
  • We reserve the right to request proof of age at any time. Parents remain responsible for their child’s overall conduct and welfare prior to and following camp activities.

4. Communications & Marketing

  • By booking a camp, subscribing to our newsletter, or providing your contact details, you consent to receive communications related to:
    • Camp dates, openings, waitlists, and essential pre-camp information.
    • Mentorship and leadership programs.
    • Athlete features, exclusive content, and performance resources.
    • Opportunities for athletes, parents, coaches, and clubs.
  • Parental consent is required for participants under 16. You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the link included in emails or by emailing info@morethanvolley.com

5. Media, Image & Testimonial Consent

  • 5.1 Purpose: During More Than Camps activities, we may take photographs, video recordings, and collect written testimonials to document camp events, create educational materials, and promote future programs across our website, social media, and print materials.
  • 5.2 Granular & Separate Consent: In compliance with GDPR and Spanish child protection laws, media consent is voluntary and separate from core camp participation. Parents/guardians may grant or withhold media consent via the Athlete Information Form prior to camp arrival.
  • 5.3 Opt-Out & Right to Revoke: You may opt out or revoke consent at any time by emailing phoebe@mentorshipofchamps.com. If you opt out prior to camp, reasonable measures (such as visual identification tags) will be used by our team to ensure camp photographers exclude the participant from close-up promotional media.

6. Making a Booking & Payment

  • After submitting your booking, we will send an Order Processing Email confirming your booking details. Please check this email carefully and notify us immediately if anything is incorrect.
  • Participants will not be allowed to attend unless full payment has been received prior to camp commencement.
  • Airport Transfers (for applicable camps): Must be pre-booked and confirmed. You must notify More Than Camps via email once travel arrangements have been confirmed.
  • Parents/guardians are responsible for all external travel arrangements, including airline fees and unaccompanied minor services.

7. Cancellation & Refunds

  • Refund Policy:
    • 60+ days before camp: Full refund minus a non-refundable deposit (€300 for Canary Islands camps; €150for all other EU, Swiss, and pop-up camps).
    • 30–60 days before camp: 50% refund of the total booking fee.
    • Less than 30 days before camp: No refund; a camp credit voucher may be offered at our sole discretion.
    • Minimum Enrolment Cancellation: If More Than Camps cancels a camp due to failing to reach minimum required participant numbers, a full refund will be issued to families.
  • Force Majeure & Exceptional Cancellations:
    • We may cancel or postpone camps due to unforeseen events beyond our control (e.g., severe weather, venue damage, safety risks). In such cases, a voucher for a future camp will be provided.
    • If a camp is cancelled due to government restrictions or public health mandates (e.g., COVID-19 restrictions), a full refund will be issued.
  • Travel Delays: Delayed, rescheduled, or missed flights remain the sole responsibility of the parent/guardian.

8. Travel, Airport Transfers & Parent Attendance

  • Recommended Travel Times: Arrival on the day before camp start; departures on the official final day of camp (applicable to Tenerife camps).
  • Site Visits: Short visits by parents/guardians are permitted only in designated public or spectator zones.
  • Parents are strictly responsible for securing travel insurance and any required travel visas.

9. Medical, Insurance & Welfare

  • An Athlete Information Form must be completed prior to camp arrival. All medical conditions, severe allergies, medications, and physical limits must be fully disclosed.
  • Camp Insurance: More Than Camps maintains operational liability insurance covering supervised camp activities.
  • Parent/Guardian Travel & Health Insurance: Parents/guardians must ensure the participant is covered by personal health/travel insurance providing emergency medical treatment, hospitalization, and repatriation coverage.
  • First aid is provided on-site by qualified staff. Parents/guardians accept responsibility for any medical expenses incurred outside the coverage of Camp Insurance.
  • In serious medical emergencies, staff will act in the child’s best interest and secure professional medical care immediately, contacting parents/guardians as soon as reasonably possible.
  • More Than Camps operates as a strict alcohol and substance-free environment for all participants.

10. Safety, Conduct & Child Welfare

  • Participant safety and well-being are our highest priorities.
  • All official activities occur in supervised, designated training areas.
  • Misconduct, dangerous behavior, bullying, or harassment may result in immediate dismissal from the camp without refund. Parents/guardians will be responsible for any resulting transport or logistics costs.

11. Liability & Risks

  • Participation in sports camps involves inherent physical risks. By registering, you acknowledge and accept these inherent risks.
  • More Than Camps, its coaches, and staff are not liable for personal injury, illness, property loss, or damage unless directly caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct on our part.
  • Personal belongings, equipment, and electronics are the responsibility of the participant. Lost, stolen, or damaged items are not covered by More Than Camps.

12. Packing & Equipment

Athletes must bring appropriate personal gear, including:

  • Volleyball training clothing and footwear (indoor court shoes / sand socks where required).
  • Personal toiletries and sun protection (Tenerife camp).
  • Valid travel documents (passport, flight tickets, health insurance cards).
  • Any required personal medication (disclosed in the Athlete Information Form).

13. Intellectual Property

All training methodologies, written materials, branding, logos, and content created by More Than Camps are protected under international copyright and intellectual property laws. Reproduction or commercial use without prior written authorization is strictly prohibited.

14. Data Protection & Privacy (GDPR Compliance)

  • 14.1 Data Controller: Personal data is controlled and processed by More Than Camps, headquartered in Tenerife, Spain, in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD).
  • 14.2 Minors’ Data Consent: Under Spanish law, processing data for individuals under 14 years of age requires explicit parental or legal guardian authorization. By registering a minor under 14, the parent/guardian authorizes More Than Camps to process the child’s data for camp administration and safety.
  • 14.3 Health & Medical Data: Medical details provided in the Athlete Information Form are classified as Special Category Data under GDPR Article 9. This data is collected solely to ensure participant safety, accommodate medical needs, and manage emergency response. It is accessible strictly to authorized lead coaches and medical personnel.
  • 14.4 Third-Party Data Sharing: We do not sell or monetize personal data. Data is shared only with necessary service providers under strict confidentiality agreements:
    • Transport operators (for pre-booked airport transfers).
    • Venue and accommodation facilities (for access control).
    • Insurance and emergency medical services (if medical intervention occurs).
  • 14.5 Data Retention Rules:
    • Medical & Operational Safety Forms: Kept for the duration of the camp plus 30 days post-camp for safety audits, after which medical records are securely destroyed.
    • Financial & Booking Records: Retained for statutory periods required by Spanish accounting and tax laws (up to 6 years).
    • Marketing Email Lists: Email addresses provided during booking or via newsletter signup are retained for marketing, camp announcements, mentorship updates, and alumni communications. You may opt out of marketing at any time via the “Unsubscribe” link in any email or by contacting phoebe@mentorshipofchamps.com. Opting out of marketing does not impact operational communications regarding active camp bookings.
  • 14.6 Data Subject Rights: Parents/guardians (and participants aged 14+) hold rights to access, rectify, port, restrict, or request erasure of personal data. To exercise these rights, email info@morethanvolley.com. 

15. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain. Any legal disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Spain.
